Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS), through the Faculty of Business Administration, is proud to host a Curriculum Development Project for the Accounting Programme in collaboration with internationally recognized institutions. Taking place from 8th to 10th July 2025, the project brings together academic leaders and experts from the University of Essex (United Kingdom), Prof. Dr. Shahzad Uddin, Universiti Teknologi MARA Cawangan Perlis (Malaysia), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Azrul bin Abdullah, C.A.(M) and Dr. Norshamshina binti Mat Isa, and from the Universiti Sains Malaysia (Malaysia), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zulnaidi Yaacob.
The event was officially welcomed and led by Dr. Lamun Kayurin, Assistant to the President, who expressed her enthusiasm for fostering international collaboration and academic advancement through this initiative. Also in attendance were Asst. Prof. Supinda Jones, Head of the Accounting Programme at RUTS; RUTS lecturers Asst. Prof. Dr. Benjamin Chanakot, Asst. Prof. Puriwat Lertkrai, and Mr. Phusana Polsongkram from the Faculty of Management Technology; Dr. Siriwan Kingrat from the College of Hospitality and Tourism; Asst. Prof. Arthit Sutjasen from the College of Industrial Technology and Management; Ms. Supaporn Kongchi from the Faculty of Business Administration; as well as staff and students from the Faculty of Business Administration and the International Affairs Office.
This strategic partnership aims to enhance the quality and relevance of RUTSβs Accounting Programme by aligning it with global standards, integrating innovative teaching and learning practices, and preparing graduates to thrive in an increasingly competitive and internationalized business environment.
Over the three-day event, participating institutions will engage in knowledge sharing, curriculum benchmarking, academic workshops, and roundtable discussions focused on curriculum structure, industry trends, digital transformation in accounting education, and quality assurance processes. These collaborative efforts are expected to result in a more dynamic, globally oriented curriculum that addresses both local and international workforce demands.
This proposed combined BachelorβMaster program represents a forward-thinking step toward developing high-quality, future-ready accounting graduates within just three years. It enhances institutional competitiveness, addresses workforce needs, and supports national objectives for higher education modernization.
The project underscores RUTSβs commitment to academic excellence, international engagement, and the continuous improvement of its academic offerings to meet the needs of a rapidly evolving global economy.
