From 18th to 22nd August 2025, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS) proudly hosted the RUTS and UUM Collaboration Camp 2025 (Digital Innovation Camp), organized under the Faculty of Science and Technology and led by Mr. Suthum Chumpromyat, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology. The program brought together 85 participants, including RUTS lecturers and students from the Faculties of Science and Technology, Engineering and Technology, and Business Administration. The camp aimed to strengthen the expertise of both students and staff in the field of digital innovation, with a strong emphasis on enhancing digital skills, creativity, and practical knowledge to prepare participants for the challenges of a technology-driven future.
On 18th August 2025, the delegates from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) arrived in Thailand, where they were warmly welcomed and picked up at the Sadao border by representatives from the Faculty of Science and Technology, RUTS Nakhon Si Thammarat Campus (Sai Yai), including both lecturers and student volunteers. This warm reception set the tone for the week of academic and cultural collaboration ahead.
On 19th August 2025, Dr. Lamun Kayurin, Assistant to the President and Leader of the International Collaboration Camp 2025, presided over the opening ceremony to officially welcome all participants. The event marked the formal start of the program, setting a positive atmosphere for collaboration, learning, and engagement throughout the week. On the same day, participants also attended the academic session on Digital Innovation Concepts, which introduced fundamental principles of digital innovation, such as the integration of emerging technologies, creative problem-solving approaches, and the application of digital tools across various fields. This session provided valuable insights and laid the foundation for the collaborative activities and projects that followed.
On 20th August 2025, participants engaged in academic activities and workshops on Problem Identification and Prototyping, complemented by enriching cultural and recreational experiences. They explored Thai culture through hands-on activities such as learning Thai Traditional Medicine and practicing the art of making Thai desserts, along with participating in sports activities that promoted teamwork and physical well-being.
On 21st August 2025, the focus shifted to Final Prototype Refinement and Pitching, a key highlight of the camp. Participants worked in groups to fine-tune their prototypes, incorporating feedback from earlier sessions and applying new knowledge from the workshops. The atmosphere was charged with collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking as students and lecturers transformed ideas into practical solutions.
During the pitching session, each group presented their prototypes before peers, mentors, and faculty members. The process showcased their technical skills, creativity, and presentation abilities, while constructive feedback encouraged them to view challenges as opportunities for growth.
The day ended with a strong sense of achievement, as participants gained confidence, strengthened teamwork under pressure, and recognized the importance of adaptability in innovationβkey qualities for future leaders in the digital era.
Finally, the closing ceremony was held on 22nd August 2025, bringing the week-long program to a memorable conclusion. The ceremony featured cultural performances that highlighted the richness of Thai traditions and strengthened the sense of friendship and mutual understanding between the two universities. A highlight of the event was the presentation of certificates to all participants, recognizing their dedication, hard work, and achievements throughout the camp.
The closing remarks emphasized the importance of sustaining the connections built during the program and encouraged participants to continue applying the skills and experiences gained in their academic and professional journeys. The event not only celebrated the success of the camp but also reinforced the shared commitment of RUTS and UUM to fostering academic collaboration, cultural exchange, and digital innovation for the future.
