On May 14th, 2025, the administration team from Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, led by Professor Dr. Suwat Tanyaros, the President, and the team including Dr. Lamun Kayurin, Assistant to the President (International Affairs), Assoc. Prof. Surasit Rawangwong, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Asst. Prof. Chaiya Tanaphatsiri, Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology, and Mrs. Suchada Jeensuksang, Head of the International Affairs Staff, visited Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Malaysia. The purpose of the visit was to explore potential collaborations in academics, research, and strategic partnerships between the two universities.

The RUTS delegation engaged in discussions with UTP’s Vice Provost Student Affairs, Mr. Saravanan Muthiah, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Toni Anwar, Senior Lecturer (Computing), Ts. Faizal Ahmad Fadzil, Lecturer (Computing), Mr. Azrul Hasyimi Zabidi, Senior Manager (Student Mobility Programme), and other department heads. Key topics focused on the fields of Petroleum Technology, Engineering, and Business Administration – Entrepreneurship. Currently, both RUTS and UTP are actively engaged in activities such as academic staff and student mobility programs, including the Digital AI & Robotics Camp 2025, the Upskill: English Communication Programme for RUTS Petroleum Technology students, and short courses for the RUTS and UTP Petroleum teams in collaboration with the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology.

Additional initiatives include the Entrepreneurship Camp 2025 and a visiting lecturer program for the Digital Entrepreneurs course with the Faculty of Business Administration. The discussions also covered potential scholarships for postgraduate degrees, joint research initiatives, academic program development, and opportunities for student and staff exchanges.
